Joining forces for small-scale fisheries: 3WSFC announcement

Next week, over 300 researchers, practitioners, small-scale fishers, civil society organizations, environmental organizations, and government representatives will gather to discuss transdisciplinary strategies to sustain the future of small-scale fisheries, as part of the 3rd World Small-Scale Fisheries Congress. Check out the congress announcement below, and we will see you all in Chiang Mai!
Did you know that you can now submit your proposal for a cultural performance at 3WSFC?

We are looking for persons or groups interested in performing 5 to 15-minute cultural presentations from Africa, Asia and Oceania, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and North America using a variety of artistic expressions such as dance, song, theatre, and poetry. These will be featured at our 3WSFC Cultural Exhibition Evening on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

Are you presenting a talk in any session at 3WSFC? We are inviting you to submit an extended abstract of your paper by August 31, 2018, for inclusion in the conference proceedings, which will be distributed to the congress participants as part of the registration package. The 3rd World Small-Scale Fisheries Congress will offer an exciting program organized around five days, including plenary sessions on emerging leading scholars, team talks, community roundtable, fisher-to-fisher talk circles, policy dialogue, amongst many others! There will also be various concurrent sessions, as well as evening events and a field excursion to Kwan Phayao.

Save the date for the 3rd World Small-Scale Fisheries Congress that will take place in Chiang Mai, Thailand! Previous editions were held in Mérida, Mexico (2014), and in Bangkok, Thailand (2010).
